Fraser River - Winter Park Fly Fisher; Winter Park, CO
Unfortunately the Fraser River is flowing out of its banks and in the canyon it is flowing dangerously high. I will keep a close eye on things but as of now I have decided to postpone the Fraser River trip. Keep your eyes on the site for updates and a new date. Stay safe out there.
If you would like to fish what many consider to be some of the most pristine freestone waters in Colorado, you do not have to travel far. Just 1 1/2 hrs outside of Golden lies one of Theodor Roosevelt’s favorite fishing sites. Rainbows, Browns, Brookies, are all available for your angling pleasure. Oh and did I mention there are big ones in there.

We will be meeting in the Wooly Mammoth Lot at I-70 and the Morrison exit.
From there we will drive about 1hr. and 15 min. to Fraser. We typically meet in the Safeway parking lot before we head out. There are a couple of miles to fish between Winter Park and Fraser. The Canyon above Tabernash is also a fantastic place to fish but required about 1/2 mile hike down to the river. Not hard but you will be at 9000 feet.
I am keeping an eye on the flows and will update the site if any changes need to be made so please stay tuned.
