This is an informal overnight trip for members to fly fish Grey Reef near Alcova, Wyoming.

Fly fishing the North Platte River below Gray Reef, Alcova, and Pathfinder in the winter can be good to great depending on the weather.  I have fished it when the temperature was in the 30’s and if you  are dressed for it, you didn’t freeze.

I will be staying at Sloan’s Cabins (307-234-2066).  They have a double bed and bunkbeds in each cabin.  You can also sleep on the couch and I am going to bring a cot.  The cabins are clean and run $100 for 2 people per night, $120 for three, and four costs only $140.  These are their winter rates.  They have everything to fix your own meals and they do the dishes.  Saturday night I am eating in Casper, everybody is welcome if they want to join me.  Each person will have to make their own arrangements for food and lodging as well as if you want to get a guide.  I will try to get names for car pooling from Denver.

If the weather is bad or a cold/snow front is coming in, we would cancel the trip and cabins early that week as the cancellation policy for the cabins is 72 hours.

If you have any questions please get ahold of me.
