Mike Owen's Place

2606 South Platte River Road

Each year, HPD opens the summer season of fishing with a pancake breakfast at the Owen’s cabin. This year we are planning a get together for all members and their families to close the summer season by gathering around a bunch of dutch ovens full of tasty food. This is a time to share fish stories, renew acquaintances, share some good dutch oven cooking, and maybe catch a fish or two. If you are a dutch oven chef, please bring your cooking gear and join in the cooking fun. All the cooks will be happy to share some tips and recipes with anyone interested in learning more about this fun method of outdoor cooking. We will have some outdoor games available, and to hone your skills – a casting game where you will have a chance to win a buck or two! Bring a few $1 (or $5s) bills to get in on this fun.

When:   Saturday, October 14, 2017
Time:    Set up and start cooking at 10:30
Serve food 2:30 – 3:30
