Warmwater fly fishing! Catch bass, perch, sunfish, crappie, and other non-trout species in one of multiple ponds and lakes at St Vrain State Park in Firestone on Public Lands Day.
We will also look to do a bit of trash pickup during this event as a conservation event.

Schedule will be as follows:
- 6 am – Meet for Breakfast at Cracker Barrel,350 W. 120th Ave., Northglenn (at I-25)
- 7:15 am – Arrive and put in to start fly fishing, exit 240 (Hwy 119) off of I-25, Firestone
- 11: 30 am – Lunch at Bald Eagle Lake
- 1 pm – Litter pick-up in the Park, fly fish for the afternoon
Flies to bring: Woolly buggers, Clousers, leech patterns (olive is great), other small streamers. You can fly fish topwater lures like deer hair bugs and poppers early in the morning.
Bring a kickboat or real boat if you have one as a couple of the lakes are better fished from the water.
